She Fills Our Lives with Special Grace!

We had a major fright a few weeks ago, when we heard Pastor Marilyn might be leaving us. Then, came the heart-stopping moment when we learned that no, this was not the case. We just couldn't help ourselves---we broke out into poetry! You may have figured out by now that Sedro-Woolley is not Elizabethan England, and we are not Shakespeares! But, we cobbled together this slightly silly but totally sincere expression of thanksgiving around the coffee tables after a joyful service of re-dedication to each of our "calls", from within ourselves and from our community, and a reminder from Marilyn that others respond to the Christ in us.

Pastor Marilyn is going to stay, for this we shout Hooray!
We know this is the Methodist way,
In spite of this she gets to stay,
For this we celebrate today, Hip, Hip Hooray.

Even though it is a dreary day,
Our prayers have been answered- she is going to stay!
She inspires us to do our best in every way,
She makes us laugh, she lets us play,
And when the plate goes by she says,”You don’t have to pay to pray.”

For all her years of service given,
For all her grace in spiritual living,
We celebrate sharing our gifts of love,
As we hold up Marilyn up from God above.

Both she and Jan have made our day,
We were “afeered,” they’d go away!
Marilyn and Jan we love you so,
We may not ever let you go!

She has made this church a better place,
She has filled our lives with special grace.
Fortunate are we, as you can see,
To have Pastor Marilyn where she needs to be,

Pastor Marilyn is our friend,
A Holy Roller to the end,
So it is with great Joy and Glee,
We keep her in our ministry.

We don’t mind confessing,
This is a special blessing.
Come what may, we celebrate this day,
We’ll tell the Cabinet to stay away.

We would also just like to say,
That Jan can also gladly stay,

Hooray!
